Mining & Pulp Paper
The following are units within the mining and pulp paper industries that clients frequently call on HRI to maintain, inspect, replace, or repair in extreme conditions and/or scheduled maintenance periods.
Vessels
When vessels crack or rupture, they can leak hazardous and extreme-heat materials at extreme pressures that pose a considerable safety risk to workers in the immediate area. HRI technicians can repair external ruptures on vessels, often while they are in full operation. This allows your workers to reenter the area as quickly as possible and experience a minimal decline in operation during the repair period, if any decline at all.
In addition to mechanical and welding repairs, HRI technicians can perform inspections (including NDT ultrasound testing) on lines and vessel walls. Our technicians have developed repair procedures that maintain the integrity of the parent material, and they will design a detail repair plan that keeps the parent material integrity of your unit in focus.
Cyclone Burners
HRI technicians frequently make online welding and mechanical repairs to cyclone burners.
Ductwork
Ducts in the ore smelting process become superheated, which can create repairs problematic for regular maintenance crews. HRI can perform welding and mechanical repairs to heated ductwork surrounding both smelters and precipitators while the units remain online.
Roasters
Ash deposits that remain after burning ore need to be cleaned out at regular intervals. HRI can perform high-temperature vacuuming of this debris in confined areas, and work can be schedule in advance for routine maintenance to the unit.
