About HRI

HRI's reputation for efficiency, effectiveness and unparalleled safety are the direct results of two factors — experience and innovation.

In 1978, one of HRI's founding members began developing a heat-withstanding system to protect industrial technicians and repairmen from high temperatures and toxic fumes on the job. The system, which was developed over the course of many years, built upon the technology of existing proximity suits such as those used by the U.S. Air Force and NASA.

The new personal protective system allowed servicemen to access tighter spaces, stay in contact with crew members via a built-in communications system, breathe easily with a fully-filtered external air supply and emergency internal air supply, work as comfortably as possible with an internal air-cooling system, and be extracted quickly from a dangerous situation if needed.

Since receiving a patent for the proprietary personal protective system in 1993 and officially forming High Temp Repair and Inspection, HRI's founding technicians (and new additions since) have reinvented the high temperature service industry and subsequently become the field's premier service providers.

HRI's client list over the years is as extensive as it is impressive, including some of the biggest names in the power-generating, steel-producing, and oil-refining industries. Today, the majority of HRI's clients are refineries such as Shell Oil, Sunoco Inc. and Valero Energy Corporation. HRI has trained more than 40 tradesmen in operating its signature heat-withstanding system to date in order to meet an increasing market demand and to provide the best possible services to each client.
